Application for Georgia State University
Summer Student Program In Astronomy
The Astronomy Program at Georgia
State University often hires undergraduate research assistants during the
summers. If you are a sophomore, junior, or senior undergraduate who is
interested in carrying out astronomical research, you might consider joining
teams of faculty, postdocs, graduate and undergraduate students in their
research endeavors for a summer to see what professional astronomy is all
about.
The start and end dates for the Summer Student Program are flexible, but will
nominally cover the 12-week period from mid-May to mid-August. Pay will be $8.00
per hour, up to 40 hours per week. Research interests of the department's
faculty who plan to hire students this summer include nearby stars, stellar
masses, interferometric techniques, active galactic nuclei, and black holes.
