Meeting Minutes

~2:59 pm - The exact time is discussed, with President Erika, Treasurer Angela, and Member Kevin weighing in with what their watches tell them.

3:00 pm - Meeting starts.

3:03 pm - Member Kevin admits he forgot about the Telescope Building session last month. Shame. Dishonor. Post-Secretary-position-resignation impeachment.

3:05 pm - We're going to put this month's Astro Movie up for a vote, so email any movie ideas you have to Secretary Ellyn and I'll add it to the list. Don't be shy. We're getting a bit desperate.

3:06 pm - The Messier Marathon scheduled for this weekend is cancelled. It looks like it's going to be not only patchy clouds on Friday but also hazy, and we need really clear skies to be looking at that many faint objects. We might plan another long-night observing session soon so we can still have a BBQ and see some cool stuff.

3:08 pm - Treasurer Angela reports she bought a lockbox for the Astro Club funds, which holds our $600 comfortably. We have much planned that will spend that money...

3:09 pm - We're planning a trip to the Coca-Cola Science Center in Columbus, GA for Saturday, May 14. We'll meet somewhere on campus at 10:00 am and probably won't be back much later than 10:00 pm, since the Science Center closes at 8:00 pm. Transportation, admission, and food will be paid for. Check out their website here for cool info.

3:13 pm - We're also planning a camping trip/visit to the US Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, sometime in June. We're going to have a vote for which weekend works for the most people (weekend of 6/3, 6/10, or 6/17) so keep an eye out for emails with that info. The same things are paid for as the Science Center trip, with things like tent rentals also being provided.

3:15 pm - There is a quiet and dignified shift of power in the Astro Club echelons as President Erika will remain President Erika, VP Bryan moved to Treasurer Bryan, and now the VP will be Abby. All hail new officers.

3:20 pm - Lame Duck Secretary Ellyn demands a recount.

3:21 pm - Meeting is adjourned.
