Meeting Minutes

3:00 pm - Secretary Ellyn shows up to an empty room again. Wonders if she has the wrong time.

3:04 pm - President Erika arrives late but she brings candy, so it's okay.

3:06 pm - There will be no Solar Observing this month. The Sun is boring these days, anyway.

3:07 pm - We're going to try again for Night-time Observing since we haven't done it in a while. We'll aim for Wed 5/17, Thurs 5/18, Wed 5/24, or Thurs 5/25. Look for go/no-go emails.

3:08 pm - The Honorable Secretary Emeritus Kevin, as he has been requested to be called, shows us the custom-made secondary mirror holder. Very cool-looking.

3:10 pm - We discuss whether or not to have an Astro Movie event this month. Consensus: sure! We decided to take a break from Cosmos so will welcome any movie suggestions. A movie voting website will be created by President Erika so we can vote on what to watch.

3:12 pm - Plans are made for our camping trip in June. The purpose of this trip is two-fold: (1) it'd be awesome and super fun, and (2) we need to "ditch money". The current plan is to visit the US Space and Rocketry Center in Huntsville, AL during the day and observe and camp in the evening. The weekend of June 23-25 has been chosen, but we have yet to decide if it'll be Friday evening-Sunday or Saturday morning-Sunday. Email preferences to President Erika, if you have one.

3:16 pm - Great glee is expressed over the discovery of a campground with toilets.

3:20 pm - Not one single nomination was made for any officer position for the Astronomy Club. President Erika absconds her position, and if no one volunteers, the Club will probably dissolve. So email the Club if you're at all interested, even if you just want more info.

3:22 pm - We're working on the t-shirts. More info to follow.

3:24 pm - Meeting adjourned.
