Meeting Minutes
Minutes for the meeting of September 7, 2006

3:58 pm - Secretary Ellyn and soda arrives. Pizza is being consumed.

4:00 pm - There are a few new faces - introductions are made.

4:03 pm - We brainstorm for a while about possible Astronomy Club activites this year:

4:17 pm - We declare the Sun "dead" due to lack of interesting features to observe. We'll keep an eye on it, as it were, to see if it perks up soon. Otherwise, Solar Observing is on hiatus.

4:19 pm - Should we continue the Astro Movies? Member Kevin calls Cosmos boring and somehow avoids the lightening bolt that Carl Sagan hurled at him. There are some murmurs that we should continue with other movies.

4:22 pm - We decide to keep up the monthly meetings. President Erika will set up a voting website for the best dates and times for meetings. The next meeting will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday in the first week in October. Look for the email with the voting website info.

4:26 pm - President Erika, aka "Benevolent Dictator Erika", is bailing out on the Club for most of September to go observing in Hawaii. Likely excuse. What could possibly be more important than us?

4:27 pm - Vice President Jeff is added to the Telescope Committee, meaning he joins Member Kevin. They'll meet to figure out what needs to be done and to set up a date and time to work on the telescope. It has lain idle and unfinished for too long.

4:28 pm - Ponder whether you want to join in on the Messier 10k (October or November) and Marathon (March) and let us know at the next meeting.

4:32 pm - Meeting is adjourned.

In attendance: Prez Erika, VP Jeff, Taylor, Rob, David, Kevin, Abby, Adrich, and a drive-by appearance of Treasurer Bryan
