For Fall Semester 2005 - The start of my FOURTH year!!
August
Mon - 15th - Fee payment deadline!! -- I paid them, early even :)
- 2ish p.m. - meet with Doug and JohnWilson regarding the teaching class
Tue - 16th - got new tire (I had a major flat) :(
- 4 p.m. - meet possible roomie Jaime and doggy -- nice gal
- 9:30 p.m. - meet possible roomie Angie -- super nice!!
Wed - 17th - my gas stove is acting funny... I smelled some gas as well as had little orange flames amongst the blue flames...
Thu - 18th - 6 p.m. - meet possible roomie Kristy -- young, okay...
- 7:30 p.m. - meet lady to buy VCR (I only have a player, not a recorder!!)
Fri - 18th - between 2 and 5 p.m. - Comcast Cable tries to fix my internet -- came at 2:10 and gave me a new modem (just like I thought)
Sat - 20th - get Justin from the bus station -- never mind, I don't know when
- 5 to 11 p.m. - Decatur BBQ, Bluegrass & Blues Festival -- went around 7:30 - it was quite good :)
- a DJ called BT comes to town :) He's awesome! -- didn't go :( No one to go with AND I'm sick!!
Sun - 21st - Mom's Birthday!!
Mon - 22nd - First day of Fall Semester Classes!!
- 11 to 1 - sit with Todd trying to recruit Astronomy students (and Club members) -- oh lord it was hot :( People were pretty much too busy :(
- 3 p.m. - meet with Doug and JohnWilson again about the teaching class (get everything situated)
Wed - 24th - 9:30 a.m. - first meeting of Teaching Class (meet 15 minutes early w/ Doug and JohnWilson) -- went just fine :)
Thu - 25th - between 11 and 3 - my new stove arrives -- well, it was an adventure - they didn't call an hour beforehand like they were supposed to and I don't think it actually solved the problem :(
- 3:30 p.m. - TA meeting -- I missed it cuz of the stove (apparently I didn't miss much)
- 7 p.m. - meet possible roomie Lara -- nice gal, she said no
- 8:30 p.m. - meet possible roomie Angie and doggy Cecelia -- nice gal, but dog might be a bit much for me...
Fri - 26th - 1 p.m. - New Graduate Student Reception!! Free Food!! A grad student's paradise!!
- after the reception - pow-wow about the upcoming skit! -- I got stuck in an elevator on the way to it with 9 other grad students!!! Fun.
- 9 p.m. - Georgia Tech swing dance
Sat - 27th - 12 to 6 p.m. - department party at Dick's lake house!!! Yay!! -- great fun had by all :)

Mon - 29th - 6:30 p.m. - my first belly dancing class this semester -- went well :)
Wed - 31st - 1 p.m. - my first lab of the semester (1020)

Thu - 1st - 11 a.m. - my first Tai Chi class of this semester
- 9:30 a.m. & 1:00 p.m. - do Eclipses in Todd's classes
Fri - 2nd - 9 and 11 a.m. - do Eclipses in Bill's classes
- 3:30 p.m. - colloquium
- 7:30 p.m. - Dinner with Nicole :)
Sat - 3rd - 10 a.m. - the Dragon-Con parade!! -- lots of stormtroopers...
Sat - 3rd and Sun - 4th - Drive Invasion! Cool bands, cars, bad movies... -- I went on Sunday - good bands, hot, didn't stay for icky horror movies
Mon - 5th - NO SCHOOL - Labor Day
Tue - 6th - Svaya's Birthday!!! She's 18!! :)
- 10 a.m. - meet with Doug
- 3 p.m. - meet with AstroClub officiers
Thu - 8th - 3 p.m. - meet with Abby to discuss AstroClub budget stuff
- 4 p.m. - First Astronomy Club meeting of the school year!
- new roomie Angie moves in!! -- she's super nice :)
Fri - 9th - 3 p.m. - Skit meeting -- things coming together :)
Sun - Yellow Daisy Festival at Stone Mountain Park -- yay!! Angela and I were art-hunting :)

Tue - 13th - 10 a.m. - meet with Doug -- ooo, looky what I have to do...

Wed - 14th - 8:30 p.m. - meet person from craigslist to buy rug, corkboard, radiator
Thu - 15th - 9:15 a.m. - meet person from craigslist to buy bamboo blinds for living room
Fri - 16th - AstroClub budget DUE -- yay! it's in!

Sat - 17th - 2 p.m. - meet Dave & Amber and new baby Hannah at Taqueria del Sol :)
- 6:45 p.m. - Went to Stone Mountain with Angela and Angie :) - climbed the "mountain" and saw the laser show!!
Nighttime Observing this week - 8:30 p.m. at Village -- we tried and it just never happened :(

Sat - 24th - 5:30 p.m. - HLCO Barbeque - skits, food, observing, what could be better?! -- went very well :)
Sun - 25th - JapanFest at Stone Mountain -- decided not to go, too much other stuff to do...
- 7 p.m. - Dinner with Todd and Mike! (for letting Todd use my laptop for the last few weeks - he took it down to Chile (CTIO)!)
Thu - 29th - 6:00 p.m. - girls night - painting pottery!!
Fri - 30th - 4:00 p.m. - AstroClub Movie - Mystery Science Theater 3000 Episode 303 "Pod People"!!

Mon - 3rd - I get to pick up my bowl today!! -- it turned out great!
Thu - 6th - 4 p.m. - AstroClub meeting -- went fine
- PRISM dinner (at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse!!) that I didn't find out about until the Tuesday before :( Dammit - if I weren't going to Minneapolis, I would so be there - grad students adore free food!!
- leave for Minneapolis :) -- plane was 1.5 hours late :(
Fri - 4 p.m. - Cirque du Soleil with my seesters!! -- really awesome!
Sat - 11 a.m. - manicure :) What the hell I figure :)

Thu - 13th - out to a band (Cordero) with Angela -- very good band :)
Sat and Sun - 15th and 16th - Scottish Highland Fair at Stone Mountain -- did not go cuz went to see apples
- Georgia Apple Festival in Ellijay -- pretty fun on Sunday :) I ate too much caramel though...
- "La Traviata" at the Atlanta Opera -- alas, I'll have to go to a different one - Tosca in May perhaps...
Sat - 15th - 3 p.m. - meet the girls for pottery :) -- I painted a lovely bowl :)
Nighttime Observing week! -- tried for Wednesday - only I showed up :(
Mon - 17th - 7:30 a.m. - bring kitty Hex to get hisself FIXED!!

- 8 p.m. - Atlanta Astronomy Club meeting that ANGELA is speaking at (Emory) -- she did great!
Sat - 22nd - Little 5 Points Halloween -- Fun! Kinda icky though (lots of icky costumes like many adults do :( )
Mon - 24th - 3:30 p.m. - Chad's Defense!!
- 5:30 p.m. - teach Dick's 1010 class (gonna do Eclipse demo and stuff) -- ended up missing belly dance cuz helping students :(
Tue - 25th - 7 p.m. - author of Ph.D. comics giving a talk at Georgia Tech
Wed - 26th - 5:30 p.m. - give Dick's 1010 class a test
Thu to Sun - 27th to 30th - "Carmina Burana" at the Atlanta Ballet
Thu - 27th - Deke Dickerson & the Ecco-Phonics at the Earl :) -- oh so fabulous!
Fri - 28th - 9 p.m. - 'Hallowswing' at Georgia Tech -- fun costumes everywhere!
- Chris spinning at the Masquerade for "Das Bunker" (industrial/gothy -- loud but had a great time :)
Sat - 29th - 1 p.m. - AstroClub to the IMAX movie "Magnificent Desolation: Walking on the Moon" -- oops, it's not playing today, only at 11:45 a.m. every other day. Damn.
- Bahama's Halloween party (dancers) -- great fun and much booty shake-age!! I didn't go home til 4 a.m. (new time!)
Sun - 30th - 11:45 a.m. - the IMAX movie -- very good!!
- 7 p.m. - the Ballet!!! -- quite good indeed - both dark and light...
Mon - 31st - Wes and Tina's Halloween party!! :) -- super awesome!! Pictures

Wed - 2nd - going to give Hex away to Wes and Tina :( :) (I'm both happy and sad) -- seems to be doing just fine :)

- possibly go to the Shakespeare Tavern (weather dependent!!)

Wed - 16th to Wed - 23rd - Observing run in Arizona at the KPNO 2.1 m with Ginny :)
Tue - 22nd to Sun - 26th - NO SCHOOL - Thanksgiving Holiday!!
Wed - 23rd - go to Yuma, AZ to spend Thanksgiving with Grandma and Jill!! :)
Thu - 24th - Mexico here we come!
Fri - 25th - Thanksgiving dinner!
Sat - 26th - 1 p.m. - scrapbook calendar class -- lots of fun :)
- 6:30 p.m. - tower lighting ceremony
Sun - 27th - play cards and dominos!
Mon - 28th - drive to Tucson, stay overnight with U of AZ friend Ed (as to not be travelling so damn much in one day!)
Tue - 29th - return from Arizona -- much fun was had by all!!

Wed - 7th - 9:30 a.m. - lead the teaching class (debunking bad astronomy) -- everyone interested :)
- 1 p.m. - my last lab!! -- every one of my students showed up, it went quite well
Thu - 8th - last day of Tai Chi and of Salsaerobics :( -- le sigh...
- 9 a.m. - take Angela to airport (she's going observing), must start feeding Haley in evenings
Fri - 9th - last day of classes
- 10 p.m. - Big City Burlesque show (dancing friends in it and stage managing it)
Sat - 10th - roomie Angie returns from Mexico
Tue - 13th - 9:13 p.m. - Angela arrives at airport, I must pick her up
