Born in 1977 in Atlanta, GA.
My parents moved us to MD when I was 6.
I lived there through my high school years then came back down South to attend Georgia Tech.
I originally thought I wanted to be an engineer, but I changed my major to Physics sometime during my second year.
Along with my coursework, I had two excellent research/work experiences.
The first was a co-op student position at Lucent Technologies.
I did programming and product testing in the fiber optic labs.
I met some really good people there, but I didn't like general corporate life.
My second experience was an Astrophysics REU at the University of Oklahoma working with Dr. David Branch on a supernova spectra simulation.
I had a lot of fun there.
I really liked the research university environment and I liked studying astronomy.
So, when the time came to graduate college, I hopped right into grad school at Georgia State.
I earned my M.S. in Physics in 2002, and I plan to defend my Ph.D. thesis in late 2006.
Hilarity ensues :)
