Young Nearby Associations in 3D
This diagram contains the eight closest young stellar associations (less than 100 Myr old), all of whom extend within 100 pc (excepting the Argus, Eta Cha and Carina). For scale, the RECONS 25 pc database (which is itself missing stars, and is therefore not the correct density) is plotted as white points.
Stars are from Zuckerman & Song (2004) and Torres et al. (2008); distances are trigonometric parallaxes from all known sources, or estimated distances from the papers (assuming they are members of the associations).
