A Really Short Bio (it will get longer soon...)

I was born in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains in Utah. Our house was built on an old apricot orchard, and was to me, quite scenic:

When I was seven, my family moved to Orange County, just south of Los Angeles, California. I started college at Orange Coast Community College, where I earned an A.A. While there I met Nick Contopoulos, and took his Introductory Astronomy course. He pointed me towards San Diego State University's Astronomy Department. While there I honed my passion for astronomy, which eventually led me to Georgia State University, where I'm currently pursuing a Ph.D. in astronomy, the realization of a lifelong dream.

My personal interests outside of my (hopeful) profession aren't so wide as I'd like. I've lately been enjoying running through the very active scene here in Atlanta via the Atlanta Track Club. One of the things that is nice about organized racing is that they show results, which I've collected for me to show you here. Below is a nice picture from one of the races, slightly altered. I really like the result. For some other race photos, go here.

My immediate family all live back in southern California, including my favorite (despite being my only so far...) nephew, Tommy. For more obligatory Tommy pics, please follow the link.
