Status of records (28Apr2003): Record-Type (RecType) identifies each record as being integer (i), real (f), a string with no white space or "word" (w), or a string (s). Currently (28Apr2003) the "no-value-entered" character is "~", in keeping with records returned by SIMBAD, however, this may be changed to "?" for CDS. (For unusual spectral types, use xx or xx.y) Using an integer code is sometimes more efficient, so sptn may be put in the format uvac (where having c>5 replaces b). piest: Done for Spectral Types and Luminosity classes with absolute magnitudes available. Most of those currently (28Apr2003) calculated that also have Hipparocos values correspond well with the Hipparcos parallaxes, but enought do not that this calculation needs another review.
