Please observe the target, J111739, continuously from the start of the night until the target sets at approximately 05:30 UT. Please observe J210607 from the time it rises at approximately 06:00UT until morning twilight. Please defocus the telescope so that the FWHM of the images are approximately 2.0-2.5 arcsec. The target stars are bright and short exposures will probably be required so as not to saturate the target. Please determine the best exposure times in each filter by observing the star once until the peak counts reach approximately 30000 ADU. Exposure times of 10-30s in the four different SDSS griz filters will be typical. If exposures take less than 7 seconds, it will be necessary to defocus the telescope more than the requested 2.5 arcsec in order not saturate the target star. Once the exposure times are chosen for each filter, please keep those fixed all the observations cycling through the SDSS griz filters for the duration of the observations. Please use the full CCD, so that many reference stars are also visible in the FOV. Please use the Quad amplifier mode to reduce the readout time to 0.8min and move the target star off the center of the quad readout frame. Observe continuously while cycling through the four filters SDSS griz. Please keep target star on the same exact pixel position for the duration of the observations. Realistically, we are usually able to keep the star centered on the same pixel position within +- 5 pixels. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NOTES FOR CALIBRATION FIELDS ----------------------------------------------------------------------- NO Standard star fields are required ----------------------------------------------------------------------- OBSERVING SEQUENCE ----------------------------------------------------------------------- TARGET J111739 PRIORITY 1 COORDINATES 11 17 39.47 -44 01 01.6 (J2000) FINDER CHART http://vpac00.phy.vanderbilt.edu/~hebbl/findingcharts/0.9m/12A/J111739.png AIRMASS (Airmass = 1.0-2.0) FILTER(S) griz INTEGRATION(S) Exposure times set to get approx 30000 peak cts in target in each of the filters.
