Note: If you are driving to Indian Creek Lodge, there are two things to be aware of:

* The I-285 entrance to the Indian Creek MARTA Station does not connect to any other streets surrounding the Station. Unless you want to park at the Station and walk to the Lodge, you should take the Memorial Drive exit. * The entrance given by GPS is sometimes inconsistent. Please use the entrance on Indian Creek Dr., just north of Durham Park Rd.

If you are taking MARTA, please see the detailed directions below.

Transportation to Atlanta

We recommend flying into the Atlanta International airport. There is a MARTA train station inside the Domestic Terminal at the airport, between the North and South baggage claims. MARTA provides service to Decatur and downtown Atlanta.

Using MARTA to get around Atlanta

MARTA Pass

You can buy a MARTA pass at kiosks outside every MARTA station. When you buy your pass, you can load it with a number of trips or a number of days. If you are not planning to make very many trips each day, it is more cost effective to buy trips than days.

Relevant Stations

Airport Station (Red/Gold Line) - This is attached to the domestic terminal of Atlanta Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. From domestic baggage claim, follow the signs to MARTA. To get to the station from the international terminal, there is a free shuttle outside baggage claim. More information can be found here - https://www.itsmarta.com/getting-to-airport.aspx

Five Points Station (Red/Gold + Blue/Green Line) - This is the central station of the MARTA network. From here, you can transfer between the north/south Red and Gold Lines to the east/west Blue Line (the Green Line also runs east/west, but doesn't run as far east as the Blue Line does, so you should largely ignore it). The Five Points Station is also close to the Aderhold Learning Center (Workshop site).

Peachtree Center Station (Red/Gold Line) - This is the station closest to our recommended Downtown Atlanta hotels. It is also relatively close to the Aderhold Learning Center (Workshop site).

Decatur Station (Blue Line) - This is the station closest to our recommended Decatur hotels. It is a good midpoint between Downtown Atlanta and the Indian Creek Station if not exactly equidistant.

Indian Creek Station (Blue Line) - This is the station closest to the Meeting site.

Indian Creek Directions

A note about sidewalks: There is no sidewalk on the eastern side of Indian Creek Dr. While there is a sidewalk on the western side, we don't recommend you take it as it would require you to cross Indian Creek Dr (which can get pretty busy) without a crosswalk. The grass you would need to walk over on the eastern side of the street is relatively flat, so as long as it isn't raining, it should be an easy walk.

We are able to ferry some participants via car from the Station to the Lodge. Let us know if this would be helpful for you.
