Important Message about the Bobcat Fire:
The regular observing schedule resumed on October 27th, 2020 following the Bobcat Fire that burned through the Angeles National Forest. With over 115,000 acres burned, ash continues to be a problem, so we adopted more restrictive humidity (RH < 60-70%) and wind limits (< 20 km/hr gusts) for when we can safely open the telescopes. These restrictions will stay in place until significant rainfall locks the ash away from being airborne.
Important Message about COVID-19:
Night-time observations at the CHARA Array resumed on May 26, 2020. We are currently operating with a limited number of staff on site. All observations will be conducted remotely. Please see the Remote Observing page for more information on preparing for upcoming observing runs.
